Weather not to your liking or just tired of the sun? Here are five activities in Santa Cruz that are worth being indoors for!
1. Seymour Marine Discovery Center
This mini aquarium and marine laboratory is full of fascinating animals and exhibits that kids and adults will both enjoy. If you do sneak outside, there’s a giant whale skeleton named Ms. Blue and incredible views of the Monterey Bay.
Located at 100 Shaffer Rd.
2. Bookshop Santa Cruz
One of the largest and oldest independent bookstores in the country, Bookshop Santa Cruz is over 20,000 square feet of new and used books, so you can spend hours browsing. Make a purchase and then mosey to one of downtown’s many coffee shops to read!
Located at 1520 Pacific Ave.
3. EXIT Santa Cruz
If you’re a group of two or more, head downtown to play an escape room game. Your group will be “locked” (not really) into a mysterious room and have to use clues to figure out how to get out again before 1 hour is up. With their five themes, you could spend a whole day playing detective!
Located at 816 Pacific Ave.

5. Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History
It’s often missed on the things-to-do lists, but the Museum of Natural History will be appreciated by guests of all ages. At 110 years old, the museum itself is a historical artifact!
